Painter Adam Mysock holds a BFA in Painting and Art History from Tulane University in New Orleans and an MFA in Studio Art from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Illinois. A deeply curious artist and passionate educator, Mysock has exhibited his work nationally and internationally in prestigious venues, including the Ferrara Showman Gallery in New Orleans, Galerie Andreas Binder in Munich, and Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati.
Known for its meticulous detail and thoughtful narrative layers, Mysock’s work has earned numerous awards, including the 2021 Best in Realism award from the Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society of Washington, D.C., and the 2012 Best of Show at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art’s “Louisiana Contemporary.” The venues in which he’s exhibited include renowned galleries, art fairs, and museums, spanning New York and London to Venice and Berlin, with notable engagements including the 14th Arte Laguna Prize at the Arsenale of Venice and the Guns in the Hands of Artists traveling exhibition. Throughout his career, Mysock’s art has been featured in many publications, including New American Paintings, Oxford American, and Sculpture Magazine, and acquired for prestigious private and institutional collections worldwide, including that of the 21C Museum.
While Mysock’s narrative work often explores themes of mythology, history, and cultural anecdotes in order to encourage reevaluations of truth and perspective, he has recently earned distinction for his robust practice investigating observational and historical miniature painting techniques and their inherent connotations.
Currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mysock continues to develop his artistic practice and contribute to the broader visual arts community as the Educational and Studio Program Manager at Manifest Center for the Visual Arts.
